Down to Gutshot for my regular monday afternoon £20 freezout. Building up nicely in the first hour; not setting the house on fire but playing Liberal-Conservative and they’re respecting my raises. I even keep my head when a posh twat on the right asks me if if I used to be in an 80’s rock band. Although I wish i hadn’t said ‘No, I’m in a 21st Century rock band’. The blinds are starting to kick in when I get

                                 under the gun. I raise 400 and a short stack goes all in. Some Bloke calls, which should

                                 have slowed me down but I’d fallen in love with those Knaves. I go over the top, and Some

                                 Bloke calls with Aces. Bloody fish-hooks.               





Friday March 14th: Sub-Genius                                      MINUS £ 50    TOTAL -£70


The Brighton chapter of the Church of Subgenius, a Nihilist/Anarchist/Surrealist                         crypto-cult, hold a £20 Freezout once a month. Eugene, a feckless millionaire, invites me down. Its like playing a bunch of benign pirates in their inky-stinky  HQ. I’m doing fine till the sulphate comes out. Hold’em is in many respects a boring game and speed does not instill the virtues of patience. I bust out, spunk all my remaining dosh in the cash game, then all of Eugene’s. Bob’s coffers have been swelled by impetuous hand. Subgenius.
